Frederik Andersen is a Danish professional ice hockey player born on 2 October 1989 who plays primarily as a goaltender. He was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round, 187th overall, of the 2008 NHL Draft, but only officially entered the NHL in 2012.Andersen played for Ontario's AHL team, the Norfolk Islanders, during the 2013-14 season, before being traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2014 to begin his NHL career.

As a goaltender, Andersen was known for his great reflexes and consistency. He joined the Anaheim Ducks in 2015 and quickly became the team's starting goaltender. Over the course of his career, Andersen has helped his team reach the playoffs on multiple occasions and has made important saves in key moments. In 2019, he signed a two-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes to continue to excel in the NHL.Andersen's style of play combines skill and physicality to effectively deal with opposing offences.
