Sebastian Aho is a professional ice hockey player from Finland. Born on 26 July 1997, he plays primarily as a centre and currently plays for the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL. He was drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round, 35th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft and joined the team for the 2016-17 season, ending his first season with 49 points (24 goals and 25 assists). Aho is an efficient scorer. He is only the third player in NHL history to have at least one assist in the first 12 games to open the 2018-19 season, the first two being Wayne Gretzky (1982-83) and Ken Linsman (1985-86). He broke the longest season-opening scoring streak in Hurricanes/Hartford Whalers history held by Ron Francis on 30 October 2018 against the Boston Bruins.
